DMCA Policy
Soul Sift respects intellectual property rights. We act as a service provider under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), 17 U.S.C. § 512(c), and we respond to valid takedown notices.
How to send a takedown notice
Email a complete notice to [email protected] with the subject line "DMCA Notice". To be valid under § 512(c)(3), your notice must include all of the following:
- A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner, or someone authorized to act on their behalf.
- Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed (a specific work, or a representative list if many).
- Identification of the material on Soul Sift that you say is infringing. A direct URL on
soulsift.ioworks best. - Your full name, mailing address, telephone number, and email so we can reach you.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement that the information in the notice is accurate, and (under penalty of perjury) that you are the owner or are authorized to act on the owner's behalf.
Notices missing any of these elements may be treated as invalid.
What happens next
When we receive a valid notice, we will remove or disable access to the material, notify the user who posted it, and forward your notice (including your contact information) so they can respond if they choose.
Counter-notices
If you posted material that was removed and you believe the takedown was a mistake or misidentification, you can send a counter-notice to [email protected] with the subject line "DMCA Counter-Notice". A counter-notice must include:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the material that was removed and the URL where it appeared before removal.
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
- Your full name, mailing address, and phone number.
- A statement consenting to the jurisdiction of the federal court for the district where you live (or, if outside the United States, of any judicial district where Soul Sift may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the original complainant or their agent.
If we receive a valid counter-notice, we'll forward it to the original complainant. Unless they file a court action within 10–14 business days, we may restore the removed material.
Repeat infringers
Accounts that are the subject of repeated valid DMCA notices may be terminated. Termination means a hard delete. See our Privacy Policy.
Misrepresentation warning
Section 512(f) of the DMCA imposes liability for knowingly sending a false takedown notice or false counter-notice. Don't do it.
